Twice weekly we run bird watching trips from Mnarani to the large Kilifi "Salt-lake" that lies behind our hotel.
Accompanied by a pilot and a guide you are taken by boat around the mangrove-fringed edges of the creek to watch the diverse collection of birds that return here each evening to roost.

Around the many bird-Islands the birds start to congregate. The lake is vast and there are over 250 different kinds of birds, including Cormorant, Kingfisher, Heron, Spoonbill, Egret, Sacred Ibis and Fish eagle.  It is an unknown paradise.

Taking the opportunity for a last feed on the incoming tide before settling down for a rest.

We are lucky to be able to be so close to the birds, and the witch-doctors cave is always worth a look.
